Photograhpy

Now i’m not the best photographer in the word, but i’m also not the worst, it is my favorite hobby though. A few years ago i took my tax return and invested in a Nikon D40, and i absolutely love it. I also have a Nikon coolpix camera that I keep in my purse for when i don’t have my SLR on me, or when its more likely that my SLR is not going to be appropriate for the situation (ie when i go out). i just thought i’d share a few of my favorite photos, and seeing as the first is from my SLR and the second from my point and shoot you can really tell how different the picture quality really is.

The first photo is from Jordan Pond at Acadia National Park, Maine and the second photo is from Block Island in Rhode Island.

If you click on the photos it will open a bigger version if you want more detail. I’m sure this is not the most interesting photo in the world, but i thought i’d share a hobby of mine.

Brand New!

I previously had a crappy little never updated blog on blogger, and hated it, then i moved to tumblr, but i wanted comments, so now i’m doing wordpress. Lets see how this goes! i’m going to copy and past my tumblr post from earlier today, cause there’s nothing new for me to say 🙂

“cast on for Multiplicity (out of “sensual knits”) the other day. Spot on with my gauge swatch, so with any luck this sweater will be the proper size, unlike the fiasco with February Lady (TERRIBLE). i’m only about 6” into the back, so i have a ways to go.

Also ordered the new zypher needles from knitpicks! i’m pretty excited about them, i got sizes 4-7. Currently i have the nickle plated options, and the small sizes make me rip a hole in my finger and then it hurts like a bitch to knit, so i figure i’ll try these ones out and see if they are not quite as sharp. i’m thinking because they are acrylic they wont be, and i’ll be much more comfortable, but we’ll see.”

Ikea is Fab

I was looking through the Ikea catalog that my mother brought home from Pittsburgh (because we sadly do not have an Ikea in Maine, booo) and i found this GORGEOUS desk that someone should get me for my birthday:

obviously it needs some legs, but they don’t have any with drawers so I’d have to figure something else out. I love love love that glass top though, my sewing machine and computer would look so good sitting on it!
